The deadbolt locks and unlocks with a key from the outside and a thumbturn on the inside while the latch is operated by the thumb piece outside and lever or knob inside. "I was thrilled to find this offered in satin nickel as my hardware and fixtures throughout the house are variations of silver and most often you find this style in bronze tones. It looks lovely at my entryway and I have received several compliments on it. We were able to easily have the product keyed to match our other locks by entering the code during the ordering process. "We received the handle on time as promised. When we opened it we were very happy! It was the same as the picture and a very heavy unit which I expect to last for years. We origanaly purchased a unit from a chain store for the same price as a settle fro price. The purchase here was almost the same price and exactly what we wanted. I do not know how you do it but thank you! I have already passed on this site to friends.
We had a billing problem as we were not credited the sales amount in our account. We were credited the correct amount in one day after one e-mail was sent. Great service!"

Will this handleset fit a 2 1/4-inch wood exterior door?
A. For a new door, you can choose whichever backset that you would like. Generally on thicker doors, the 2-3/4" backset would be more common.

A. This handleset locks from the bolt located at the top of the handleset. The thumb push has no locking mechanism.

A. This tubular latch includes all parts. But it does require you to choose the option and the price will adjust based on the choices made.

A. The dummy set that matches the Emtek 4811 is the Emtek 4801.

What is the use of the interconnect device?
A. Thank you for your question. The interconnected device connects the deadbolt and the lever mechanisms together. So, if locked, turning the inside lever would also unlock the deadbolt. This helps during emergencies when the door must be unlocked and opened quickly.
