Quiet Exhaust Fan Date: September 2, 2009
"This particular model was highly rated by Consumer Reports magazine so we purchased it for our bathroom (which never had an exhaust fan).

It is very quiet - so quiet its easy to accidentally leave it on, but this is preferable to one which sounds like a thrashing machine. One could use a timer switch with it to solve this problem.

We followed size guidelines and purchased the 80 cubic foot per min model for a bathroom which is 8' x 5' with and additional 3' x 6' tub/shower alcove. The fan will clear steam from the mirror in about 2-3 minutes, but I wish I had purchased the next larger size (100 cfpm) which might prevent any steam build-up in the first place in our size bathroom.

Nice fan. Will consider this brand and retailer when I purchase a kitchen exhaust fan next year.

Last year we purchased a lovely Kohler faucet from Faucet Direct. Faucet Direct offers excellent customer service via phone to supplement their comprehensive website."

I am putting a exhaust fan in a basement bathroom wondering if I can vent it through the wall?

A. The Air King AK80 is designed for ceiling installation. We do carry through-the-wall exhaust fans, like Air King EWF-180.
